4th Battalion Coldstream Guards were part of the 6th Guards Tank Brigade.
On 20 July 1944, the 6th Guards Brigade were landed at Gold and Juno beaches before going in to action in the Battle of Normandy in the Bocage in operation Bluecoat 30th July to 4th August 1944
