Promoted sergeant, mid card indicates his regiment as the  9^th Devonshire’s

On the 5^th of October 1916 he is listed wounded and entitled to a wound stripe

On the 7^th May 1917 he is again wounded and transferred by No 9 Ambulance Train with a gun shot wound to the testicles, and its noted he was in the 9^th Battalion Devonshire Regiment

If he was in the 9^th Devonshire’s for both woundings, 5^th of October indicates around the time of the Battle of Guillemot, and the 7^th of May 1917 around the time of the Battle of Bullecourt.

There is also the possibility he took part in the regiments famous action on the 1^st of July 1916
